TRACE Badge FAQs

What qualifies as “using TRACE”?

Your organisation must have an active TRACE subscription. If you already have a TRACE account, you need to verify that you are actively measuring an upcoming event within three months of the badge being issued. Organisations new to TRACE are also required to start measuring within three months. The TRACE team will monitor usage and reserves the right to revoke the badge from any organisation not aligned with the criteria above.

Can we use the badge on RFPs, tenders, or sales proposals?

Yes. The badge can be used on marketing materials, RFP/tender responses, event collateral, websites, social channels, and sustainability reports. The badge shows your organisation is actively measuring Scope 3 emissions with TRACE, helping you share progress transparently and drive event industry change.

What if our TRACE activity changes after approval?

The badge reflects that you are currently measuring Scope 3 emissions with TRACE. If your subscription lapses or TRACE use stops, we reserve the right to ask you to remove the badge credentials if if significant discrepancies arise.

Are we certified or offsetting emissions by using this badge?

No. The badge is a recognition of measurement only. It does not imply certification of carbon neutrality or any offsetting activity.

Is there a cost to apply or use the badge?

No. There is no additional cost to apply for or use the badge if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Who is the badge for?

Any organisation measuring their emissions using TRACE.
